Coco is around 50 days into her pregnancy. Her owners wanted to confirm pregnancy and get a rough idea of numbers, particularly to rule out a singleton, which can lead to a difficult birth. We were able to get the answer to both of these questions within seconds, because Coco is simply full of puppies! At this stage, the foetuses are very well-developed, and we could easily make out strong heartbeats, spines, ribs, and even the puppies’ stomachs and tiny bladders. All of the puppies were very active, kicking and squirming away inside of their mother, who stood for half the scan and then laid happily on her back for the remainder.
Looking forward to finding out how many puppies Coco delivers in a couple of week’s time!

Nala came for her pregnancy scan today. We saw at least 6 (probably 7) foetuses, at around six weeks of gestation.
