Course Description

Join AUA founder Catherine Stowell in Bromley on 18th June for a practical day of echo training. This small-group, hands-on course is designed for veterinary surgeons who want to improve their confidence and consistency in echocardiography through supervised live scanning.

Unlike many traditional courses, there are no lectures or presentations- the entire day is dedicated to practical scanning in a supportive ultrasound laboratory environment. With a student-to-teacher ratio of just 2:1, attendees receive continuous real-time feedback and tailored guidance throughout the day. Participants will scan both canine and feline patients, ensuring valuable experience with cats as well as dogs.

The course is structured around individual learning goals. Attendees will leave the day with a protocol they can follow, either a focused protocol centred around the echocardiographic views they find most challenging, or a comprehensive protocol for performing a complete echocardiogram. By maximising hands-on scanning time, the course helps vets build confidence in applying echocardiography within everyday clinical practice.
