We’ve had a busy few months here at the Animal Ultrasound Association, finishing off all the filming for our canine and feline pregnancy scan courses, and working with Sarah to film the materials for her upcoming small animal abdominal ultrasound course which will be hosted here in Bromley. Next month, we’ll begin the next phase of our veterinary echocardiography course production, and we’re delighted at the feedback we have been receiving from our students across our various ultrasound training programmes.
What training does the AUA now offer?
Pregnancy Ultrasound
Our sonographers have specialised in small animal scanning for over 15 years, and created the world’s first ever training courses in small animal pregnancy scanning. Their syllabus is the one upon which all other courses have been based, and in many instances, attempt to emulate. For this reason, the AUA is the first choice of veterinarians, vet nurses, vet techs and responsible breeders who wish to learn to scan animals to confirm pregnancy. You can view our upcoming courses here, or join the VIP Scanning Academy here.
Pregnancy scanning can be a fantastic introduction to ultrasound for new users, and not only veterinarians; it’s a skill that vet nurses, too, can perform independently and to a high standard. It also compliments other nurse-led services your practice might be running for local breeders and pet owners.
Echocardiography
In April 2024, our Echocardiographer Catherine will be adding an expansion to her masterclass in veterinary echocardiography, with several new modules on the use of Doppler: when to use it, how to use it, and how to interpret the results. All existing students will receive this new content free of charge. If you are a veterinarian who is interested in learning echocardiography with Catherine, please book a call here, to find out whether our programme is a good fit for you.
Abdominal Ultrasound
New to 2024, we are collaborating with veterinarian Sarah Keir to launch an abdominal ultrasound course. This course will consist of lecture and demonstration videos which you can watch on-demand prior to attending in person, so that you can spend all of your day with Sarah hands on with patients. Feel free to register your interest now if you would like to be alerted as soon as our first date is scheduled.
