SUMMARY:In-person echo course with Prof Virginia Luis Fuentes (Fully Booked)
DESCRIPTION:Veterinary Echocardiography Day Course: Bromley (Southeast London)\nSpend a day with cardiologist Professor Luis Fuentes\, and echocardiographers Catherine Stowell and Matthew Travis\, for hands-on echocardiography training on canine and feline patients.\n\nThis day course is followed up with support and feedback through our invite-only Facebook group\, where you can share cases and continue your learning.\n\nOur 2:1 student to teacher ratio and tiny group means that we can accommodate all levels of experience. If you want to check that this course is right for you\, please arrange a consultation here (it’s free!).\n\n \n6 hours of scanning time in a relaxed\, supportive environment\nOne of the major barriers to learning echocardiography as a GP or emergency veterinarian\, is getting sufficient time to practice your skills.\n\nAnother problem is the lack of real-time\, expert feedback\, so that you know whether or not you are “doing it right.”\n\nAll of this means that vets who have invested a lot of time (and money!) in learning the theory of echo\, often lack the confidence to put it into practice and begin offering an echo service. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \nWhat makes our course unique\n\n Equal representation of feline and canine patients – most echo courses exclude or underrepresent cats\, yet these are usually our most challenging patients!\n Student:teacher ratio of 2:1.\n No lectures – you will spend all day scanning.\n\n \nWant to sign up to our free veterinary echocardiography newsletter? SUMMARY:Echocardiography Day Course
DESCRIPTION:Veterinary Echocardiography Day Course: Bromley (Southeast London)\nHands-on echo day for beginners and improvers\, small group teaching\, spaces limited to 4 people. Led by Echocardiographer Catherine Stowell. Thursday 7th of May\, 10am – 4pm. £750 per person. Lunch included. Three protocols to choose from: focused (for emergency vets or those just starting their echo journey)\, full or advanced. Covering dogs and cats. As groups are so small\, each person can work towards their own personal learning objectives and master the protocol of their choice. Focusing mainly on the left-sided views in dogs and cats\, you will have several hours of guided scanning time.” – this is contradictory. We have to choose one or the other. Either they choose a protocol\, or we focus mainly on left-sided views. Since what’s her name said she wanted to do left-sided\, let’s say that\, so remove (on this occasion) the part about three protocols to choose from.\n6 hours of scanning time in a relaxed\, supportive environment\nOne of the major barriers to learning echocardiography as a GP or emergency veterinarian\, is getting sufficient time to practice your skills.\n\nAnother problem is the lack of real-time\, expert feedback\, so that you know whether or not you are “doing it right.”\n\nAll of this means that vets who have invested a lot of time (and money!) in learning the theory of echo\, often lack the confidence to put it into practice and begin offering an echo service.\n\n \n\n\n \nWhat makes our course unique\n\n Equal representation of feline and canine patients – most echo courses exclude or underrepresent cats\, yet these are usually our most challenging patients!\n Student:teacher ratio of 2:1.\n No lectures – you will spend all day scanning.\n\n \nWant to sign up to our free veterinary echocardiography newsletter? With a wealth of experience as a peripatetic veterinary ultrasonographer\, Camilla travels throughout East Anglia\, assisting practices with their ultrasound needs and sharing her knowledge through both in-person training and online platforms. \nA qualified vet since 2006\, Camilla’s journey has taken her through emergency and critical care\, where she honed her ultrasound skills during night shifts\, to completing her CertAVP in 2018. After time spent observing the ultrasound department at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket\, she launched her own business in 2018\, dedicated to empowering small animal vets with practical ultrasound training. \nShe has also developed a highly regarded suite of online ultrasound courses and leads a thriving online community of veterinary professionals committed to building confidence with ultrasound. \nAccess to Camilla’s Most Popular Online Course\nAs part of this course package\, participants will receive access prior to the training day to Camilla’s flagship online programme:Veterinary Ultrasound: The Basics. \nThis structured\, self-paced online course is designed specifically for first-opinion vets who want to feel more confident using ultrasound in daily practice.
