A CIC “exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders.” By existing as a CIC and not as a for-profit limited company, it is our promise to you that every penny of your membership fee goes towards promoting and protecting our members across the UK.
As a CIC, the company’s assets can only be used for its social objectives. In our case, that is to protect professional scanners, their clients, and of course their animals.
As a CIC, in the event that the company were ever wound up, assets would be transferred to our chosen non-profit beneficiary: the Wildlife Aid Foundation.
As a CIC, our financial activities are overseen by Regulator for Community Interest Companies, through submission of an annual public interest report. There is complete transparency as to our spending of funds.
